Kezman gets shirty

The Paris St-Germain future of Mateja Kezman is in doubt after he threw his shirt on the ground while being substituted during the Coupe de la Ligue defeat against Bordeaux

PSG lost their semi-final against Les Girondins in a humiliating 3-0 turnover at home in the Parc des Princes.

FOOTBALL - PARIS - COUPE LA LIGUE - KEZMAN - 0

With the score still 1-0 just before the hour mark, Kezman missed a straightforward chance to equalise and was promptly substituted.

The former PSV, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Fenerbahce striker, 29, threw his shirt to the ground while running straight down the tunnel.

Despite apologising immediately after the game, the club are set to act firmly with the Serbia striker.

"Following the match between PSG and Bordeaux, Mateja Kezman will meet the coach (Paul Le Guen) as well as the board to explain his gesture, the club said. "The club will then reveal the subsequent sanctions."

Kezman admitted he was in the wrong, blaming frustration with his own poor form.

"I made a mistake. Maybe something like that has never happened here, but I am a person with a strong character experiencing one of the most difficult moments of my football life since arriving here," he said.

"Everyone needs to know that this has nothing to do with the club, the fans or the shirt: this was a reaction of anger at myself.

"It is not like me to miss this kind of chance and to get this kind of welcome from the fans.

Le Guen said the player had "shown a lack of respect for the shirt and a lack of respect for me".

He added: "I will have a discussion with him but he will, of course, be sanctioned by the club.

"We will see (if he plays for the club again). We have to talk to him but it was unacceptable."
